Voices of the Heart edition by Frankie J Jones Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I loved this book from the bottom of my heart, Jody and Ellen made me cry when they supported each other when thing's got rough, and how Jody's love for Ellen was so powerful and strong that it made her sick as well when ellen broke up Jody, and then made it clear that she loved Ellen regardless of how she looked, she loved her for who she was and that's realy true love.
From the first chapter, I just couldn't get into this book. I usually like Jones' writing, but this one fell far short of her usual talent. The characters just aren't likable and the basic premise of the story is disappointing.

Erin Fox had absolutely no idea what kind of trouble she was getting into when she met Ashley Wade on a quiet porch swing when looking for a respite from a loud party. Lonely, Erin finds Ashley intriguing and irresistible. After spending weeks listening to cryptic stories about her seemingly-abusive cop girlfriend, Erin suddenly finds herself in bed with a sexually hungry and adventurous Ashley. Afterward, Erin fears for her personal safety. In the meantime, Erin becomes friends with her new neighbor Diana. Diana suffers from an unrequited love for her neighbor and worries about Erin's indiscretions. This is especially true when strange things start to happen in Erin's life, including an unexpected response from Ashley's partner.

As a reader, I have to admit the only character I liked in this entire book is Diana. She's the only one with ethics and morals. I didn't feel sorry for Erin. She went into a relationship with Ashley with her eyes wide open. I didn't feel sorry for Ashley. She brought her problems on herself. I especially didn't feel sorry for Ashley's partner. Although I think she got a bum rap when she hooked up with the woman, she consistently enabled Ashley's behavior.

This isn't one I'd strongly recommend. However, since I've read and currently own everything else by Jones, I'm glad I gave this one a chance. If you're a big Jones fan, give it a shot. If you're not a Jones fan, find something better to do with your time.
I have to agree with the previous reviewer that this was not up to Frankie Jones' usual work. The story seems immature and the characters are not at all likable.
