I love prepped fiction but this one was terrible. The main character had no development. The plot was too full of gun descriptions and had not real interest to me. The plot that did exist was not at all plausible and basically ran together all the right wing fears into one big morass of dumb. Also, this is outdated as of 2015 at least. Overall, I could not even get to the end and recommend skipping this all together.Product details

Now, I am saving my dollars to buy all of this authors books. This is the best bargain I have bought since the two for one Bubba Burger and fries deal. If the rest of Jerry D Young's books are this good for this price, I will be in prepper heaven.
Wonderful story. I have enjoyed everyone of his books. Everyone that I have read were well written. He is very great author.

Kind of heavy on descriptions of equipment which leaves it a bit shy on the story itself. I have read many from this author.
These books by Jerry D. Young are not just a bit of "Worst Case Scenario" but also offer a good bit of practical, as well as impractical some might say, advice. In this book, we see how keeping your head down in a crisis can be a really good idea as folks get desperate for anything and everything. Well written with a scary premise, I couldn't put it down until I finished.
An interesting story about a reclusive man that is completely prepared for all kinds of disasters; when an unimaginable disaster happens, he helps others to survive.
This is the first story I've read by Jerry D. Young, and I have to say I enjoyed it. Some of it is a bit terse and there are a lot of references to the makes/models of the equipment the main character owns (which is actually helpful if you are into disaster preparedness). I walked away with a lot of good ideas mainly about security and traveling long distances in a dangerous environment.
Looking forward to reading Young's other stories; at $1 each, they are well worth it.
This book was a bit wordy sometimes but it does have some good info about how to set up base Survival preparations. Although it was sort of wordy on description of guns and ammo as well as describing in extreme detail every move the lead character made, it did have some good advice on what and how to prepare for a SHTF time.
